Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the amount deposited differ from what I see in the Clientbook portal?
The Clientbook portal shows the gross amount before BlueSnap fees. The final amount deposited in your bank account reflects:
The 2.65% + $0.30 per transaction processing fee
The $0.50 per payout fee
Any additional authorization or decline fees
Any refund reserve withholding (if applicable)
These items reduce the final payout amount, so the deposited value may be slightly lower than what appears in Clientbook.
What is the $0.50 difference we sometimes see in our deposits?
BlueSnap charges a standard $0.50 fee per payout. This fee is applied once per payout, not per transaction. For example, whether your payout includes 1 transaction or 5 transactions, the fee will still be $0.50.
In some cases, you may also see a small additional fee, such as an authorization decline fee. These are itemized in your payout report.
What is a refund reserve and why was money withheld?
A refund reserve is an amount BlueSnap holds in your account to cover potential refunds or chargebacks.
Key points:
The default amount is $35.00.
Some merchants choose to increase or decrease this reserve depending on their business needs.
Once the reserve reaches the designated balance, BlueSnap stops withholding additional funds.
If your reserve is set higher than expected or you want it adjusted, Clientbook Support can help update it.
If funds were withheld from a payout and placed into your refund reserve, you will see that amount listed clearly on your payout summary.
