Reaching out for your client's life events, such as birthdays and anniversaries, is a great opportunity to drive foot-traffic into the store. Striking at the correct moment is essential and below are best practices to accomplish this:
1. Automated messages vs. Automated reminders -There are two different ways this outreach can be done; either by an automated message sent from Clientbook, or a reminder pushed to the associate to reach out to the customer. The retailers that see more success with this feature are the retailers that are utilizing Clientbook to send the automated message, therefore ensuring the outreach happens to anyone with these key dates on their profiles.
2. When should I reach out? Whether you're going to automate this effort or have the associates complete these tasks, we've seen best results for our retailers by sending that message at 2-3 prior to the anniversary, and 1-2 weeks prior to the birthday.
3. What should my message say? Short and sweet is always recommended! You start to lose the customer's attention the longer that message gets. Our retailers seeing the best results are also including some sort of discount or promo off this special occasion purchase.
