Locate the closing </body> tag in your code. In order for changes to be made to your code, the script needs to be pasted between the two <body> tags.
Instructions for your website builder:
Installing Webchat on Shopify
Installing Webchat on WordPress
After you've finished personalizing your web chat, click on the Copy Code button located at the bottom of the set up page.
Go back to the code you pulled up earlier, and paste your new web chat code between the two <body> tags.
Important: To ensure the web chat works flawlessly, make sure that you paste the new code as close as possible to the closing </body> tag.
After you've pasted the code, check for smart quotes! Many plugins automatically change regular double quotes to smart quotes. Your code implementation will not work if it has smart double quotes. Remove all smart quotes and replace them with regular double quotes before saving your code.
Save your code! The web chat should now appear on your website.
- There's an additional feature at the end of the web chat settings titled "Web Inquiry API". It is only relevant if integrating with Clientbook's API. If you want to use our API to submit inquiries aside from installing the script above, you also need to pass along your merchant UUID with that request. https://clientbook-pos-api.readme.io/reference/post_webcontact-1
