1. How Product Recommendations Are Identified
We analyze the style number (also known as the manufacturer part number or MPN) from your point-of-sale (POS) data and match it with items in our vendor catalogs. Our algorithm then recommends related products.
Example: If you’ve sold a diamond engagement ring, our system finds that specific ring in the vendor’s catalog and suggests other related products, like matching wedding bands or diamond earrings, that might appeal to your customer.
2. When Recommendations Might Be Off
If the MPN in your POS data is incorrect or includes extra characters, the system might match it to the wrong item.
Example: Let’s say the MPN in your system has an extra character at the end due to a typo. The system might think it’s a different piece of jewelry, like a bracelet instead of a ring, and suggest recommendations based on that incorrect item.
3. How to Ensure 100% Accuracy
Make sure the MPN in your POS system is accurate and contains only the MPN.
Example: If you sold a specific model of a luxury watch, double-check that the MPN field in your POS system only includes the MPN and nothing else. This will help the system provide the most relevant recommendations.
